Camp J features an amazing line up of special days for Summer 2013!
Camp Talent Show – each group works on a song/skit/performance culminating in a Friday afternoon show for all campers and parents.
Israeli experience – special day of Israeli culture and activities including Israeli dancing, singing, learning and a fabulous “Shuk” (market) and café with falafel, hummus & more!
Battle of the Networks – our annual BATTLE day, where the campers are divided into 3-4 teams. Previous years were Battle of the Elements and Battle of the Decades. This year will be Battle of the Networks (Disney, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network) with Spongebob facing off with Phineas & Ferb and Ben 10!
Every Thursday is Crazy Thursdazy, where we encourage your camper to come dressed for the theme of that day. Themes include Crazy Hat Day, Crazy Hair Day, Costume Day, Red, White & Blue Day, Pajama Day, Rockstar Day, Tie Dye Day, Sports Jersey Day and more!
Every Friday we celebrate Shabbat at the end of the camp day. During Shabbat, we sing, eat challah bread and choose our “Ruach (Spirit) Stick” winners, who are the most spirited campers of the week. Children who exhibit exemplary behavior through sharing, good listening and friendship building, are also potential Ruach Stick winners. The Ruach Stick winners get to lead Shabbat, decorate the Ruach stick, and their pictures are featured in the weekly camp newsletter.
Every summer, Camp J has an epic COLOR WAR, where the campers and counselors are divided into 2 groups. Color War always has a special fun and exciting theme. Past themes have included Shrek vs. Toy Story, Harry Potter: Gryfferin vs. Slynthendor, and Avengers vs. Justice League. COLOR WAR activities include water relays, scavenger hunt, cook-off, trivia games, team songs, team plaque, team dance, sports competitions, tug-of-war and more! This is historically the most exciting and memorable week for Camp J campers! Register your child for this epic and unforgettable week of friendly competition! This summer, COLOR WAR is week 6: July 15-19 - mark your calendars now!
