Theatre South

Theatre South is a unique center for the arts housed at the JCC’s Jack & Lee Rosen Southwest Orlando Campus catering to adults, teens, and children. At Theatre South, you learn by participation in class workshop settings, taught by professionals currently working in their field at places like Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and Blue Man Group.

Workshops

Theatre South workshops are taught by professionals currently working in their field at places like Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and Blue Man Group. Some workshops are for children or teens, while others are for adults. Try a class in The Acting Studio, where you can learn to drum with a Blue Man, on sing like you’re on Glee. Or get ready to move in The Dance Studio, where you get move ‘n’ groove or bring a fairy tale to life.

Theatre South also offers regular Sunday Workshops, where you can take master classes from performers in the Blue Man Group, puppetry lessons from a Disney Puppet Master, musical theatre with Broadway and National Tour performers, and more!

Private Lessons

Always wanted to learn something? Sign up for private lessons in Voice, Piano, Drumming, Ukulele, Musical Instrument, Dance, Couples-Dance, and Acting/Audition—available for all ages from children through adults! Times are based on teacher/student availability. Theatre South’s private lessons are a great way to learn your craft in a one-on-one (instructor and student) setting. They are tailored to fit each student’s individual needs.

$60 per hour (private lesson packages are available upon request)

Summer Camps

Theatre South offers one-week specialty camps for children entering grades 2-9. You can be a Movie Star one week, and a Broadway Star another! Camps are taught by professionals currently working at Disney, Universal and Blue Man Group.

Birthday Parties

Book one of Theatre South’s legendary “Broadway Birthday Parties” for the STAR-TO-BE in your family! Theatre South will send a troupe of professional performers to your party and perform a few numbers from a show. Then get ready to show your stuff when we teach you and your guests the songs and dances from the show. We then put it all together and do a
big end-of-party performance!
